19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a torrid season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.
The player's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, supported by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early-game break points in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
